About Me

Hi and Welcome to my little home on the web. I'm so glad you've stopped by. I thought I'd introduce myself...

My Name is Brooke...
Funny-ish story how I got that name. Has something to do with a little girl that resembled the Quilted Northern Toilet Paper girl. So yes, I am sort of-ish named after toilet paper. =/

Me the Blogger.
Formerly @ My Beautiful Brooke, now @ Covered in Grace. Let me first explain how I chose the title for my original bloggy.  My Beautiful Brooke might sound a smidge vain, I know. But rest assured that my choice in that title comes, not out of vanity or wishful thinking, but out of a blessed and grateful place- in that I am Beautiful because HE sees me, despite my flaws.
While I still embrace this.. I had long been struggling with the name and finally decided to take the plunge to switching over to CiG. I feel like this suits my purpose far better than MBB.

I am somewhat of a baby blogger and am still in the building and habit forming stages of this. But I enjoy writing  and a little amateur photography...and this seems to be one of the best ways to practice using both...so I'm taking a whack at it.

And the Writer.
Writing is one of my passions and has been since my childhood brain could start imagining. I wrote my first book when I was a third grader and was super excited when my school decided to bind it and feature it in the Texas Bluebonnet Festival that year. Ever since, I knew I wanted to become a published author. That is the ultimate goal...career-wise.
So I've dabbled in short stories, poetry, children's lit, creative non-fiction...even song writing. I am really trying to find my niche in the great big world that is publishing and writing.

Lately, I have been getting one gentle nudge after another. Signs that I need to walk the walk have been popping up everywhere and I have concluded that I am experiencing a God Intervention. He wants me to use my talent, my passion to serve His purpose. For a week straight, scriptures and quotes about using your gifts to honor the Lord crossed my path. I knew He was done with subtlety when I woke up one day, went straight to facebook and the first thing I read was 1 Chor. 16:24 "Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does."
PUBLISH. Haha! Ok, Ok. Gotcha!

Ever since, I have been witnessing other reaffirming nudges and the ideas have been flowing.
So here goes something.

As for the other stuff...
I'm just a chic who's living life in Grace and Blessings. My faith is in Jesus and I am blessed beyond words in His Truth and Forgiveness.

My Family: My Love, a.k.a. Handsome (hubby), Tator (11), Angel (9)

So...I am the mother of two beautiful, precious souls and the wife to one spectacular man. (Of course, Handsome, Tator and Angel are not their real names...those are their blog-nicknames.)  I met Handsome when I was sixteen and have been in love since the beginning. He is my heart, my deep breath, my comfort, my best friend. Our love grows deeper and stronger and more resilient as each year passes. Hard work, sweat and tears have been the building tools in our marriage, and abundant love and laughter have been the nourishment. I couldn't ask for a better husband or father for my girls. And I thank God every day for bringing him into my life.

My bebes are blessings entrusted to me/us early in life. Young Mother is another of my "labels", if you want to say label. I write about that from time to time. I absolutely believe that every person comes into your life exactly when they do for a reason. My girls light up my world. They are quirky and silly and unbelievably intelligent. I know they are meant for great things.

As a family, we are a loving, goofy, nerdy, caring, bunch. We're super close and protective of each other. We girls are emotional and tough. Bless my poor husband's heart.. has he got it in for himself. But he is up for the challenge, a strong leader for our family.

We love hiking, boating, camping, fishing, sports, movies, computers, books, lazy days and crazy days, family time, BBQ's, lots of friends, a whole, whole lot more and TEXAS!
We are meant for each other!
